Here are a few pictures of a new gravel driveway replacing an old concrete driveway in Ballinlough, Cork. All materials were supplied and labour carried out by Excel Driveways.

We dug out and removed the old concrete from the front yard. We made the necessary adjustments to level off the area.

Our lads refurbished the front path and step into one cohesive style by laying down Sandstone slabs, fixed down with concrete.

To finish this project off, we poured down natural grey gravel chippings and raked them down to an even layer.

Golden Gravel Driveway with Sandstone Patio in Milstreet, Co. Cork

We cleared the existing driveway of the old gravel and removed some of the greenery to better utilize the space.

We installed new ACO drains in several crucial spots, where water pooling might do harm to the surface over time.

The patio portion of the project was laid with Sandstone slabs in various sizes. We refashioned a new doorstep to match the patio. For the driveway itself, we started by putting down a type 1 hardcore base together with a heavy duty geo tech sheeting to prevent weed growth. The driving area was the filled with Golden Gravel, to compliment the Indian Sandstone.

The multiple transitions from gravel to Sandstone and vice versa, give this driveway unusual and personalized look.

Hot Tar and Chipping Driveway in Mallow, Co. Cork

Here are some pictures of a tar and chip driveway completed by the local contractors at Excel Driveways in Co. Cork.

We first started by clearing out the old gravel and mucky lawn to significantly enlarge the usable area.

The driveway already had concrete kerbing along the edges, we only added new ones in the extended areas, and replaced some of the old ones, that were damaged.

Our team laid down an 804 sub-base and poured hot tar all over the area. The surface was finished with Natural Limestone gravel and compacted with a machine roller.
